Description

Spots of Post-impression1.

Post-Impressionism is a loose term that describes the development of French art since Manet (1832-1883). It was coined by the British artist and art critic, Roger Fry, in 1910 but only “for purposes of convenience.”

Fry argued that “it was necessary to give these artists a name, and I chose, as being the vaguest and most non-committal, the name of Post-Impressionism.

Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image.
